56 units of mixed-income and mixed-used community in East Boston.

Location: East Boston, MA

Scope of Work: Provide brake metal flashing on the fiber cement and composite metals exterior facades of the building.

Challenges: The project encountered several challenges, including:

Numerous custom profiles are required in areas where the fiber cement interacted with brick and composite metal.

Multiple locations where the fiber cement interacted with the balconies, necessitating precise and custom solutions.

Solutions Implemented: Our advanced computerized system was capable of addressing these challenges by producing the necessary brake metal to the exact specifications required. This ensured a seamless integration of materials and high-quality finishes.

Project Timeline: 6 months

Enterprise Phase 2, Brockton

111 Unit Multi-Family Project

Location: Brockton, MA

Project Description: Multi-family project with 111 units.

Scope of Work: Brake metal for the composite metal panels and shingle areas, including all accessories for the metal shingles exterior facade.

Challenges Faced: The project was executed during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to significant delays in the availability of materials, especially the metal accessories for the metal shingle areas.

Solutions Implemented: Our modern machinery was instrumental in producing all the metal accessories for the metal shingles areas, as well as the necessary brake metal for the windows on the composite metal panel areas. This capability allowed us to overcome material shortages and delays.

Project Timeline: 7 months

Outcomes and Results: By producing all the necessary accessories in-house, we met the project's schedule and delivered the quality that the owner expected.

Key Team Members: Our office team played a critical role in sourcing the metal sheets needed to produce the brake metal, ensuring the project's success.

195 Boldwing Project

Location: Dorchester, MA

Project Description: 55 affordable housing units in Dorchester, MA.

Scope of Work: Furnished all the brake metal bands and special profiles to incorporate the phenolic panels and fiber cement siding.

Challenges Faced: This project was executed during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in a very tight schedule and a shortage of materials.

Solutions Implemented: Thanks to our dedicated team, we were able to fabricate all the profiles without any mistakes, ensuring no waste of materials.

Project Timeline: 6 months

Outcomes and Results: The building turned out great, revitalizing and adding value to the neighborhood. We are proud to have been part of this impactful project.

Key Team Members: Special thanks to our vendor who, despite the pandemic, was able to supply the necessary products to complete the project.

180 Telford st, Boston

85-Unit Residential Project

Location: Boston, MA

Project Description: 85 units of high-end residential ownership.

Scope of Work: Furnish all the brake metal for the fiber cement exterior facade.

Challenges Faced: The project required several different profiles. Despite looking similar, many profiles had slight size variations ranging from 1/4" to 1/2", resulting in a greater number of unique profiles.

Solutions Implemented: Our state-of-the-art computerized machinery was capable of keeping track of all the necessary parts, regardless of the number of profiles needed. This ensured accuracy and efficiency in production.

Project Timeline: 9 months

Outcomes and Results: All the parts and profiles met the necessary dimensions for the project, ensuring a perfect fit and high-quality finish.

Key Team Members: Our fabricators played a crucial role in keeping the profiles updated and ensuring the success of the project.

370 Harvard st, Brookline

62+ Unit Community

Location: Brookline, MA

Project Description: 62+ community development in Brookline.

Scope of Work: Provide all the brake metal for the Cembrit, CMP, and fiber cement facades, as well as all the brake metal for the exterior Porcelanosa tiles.

Challenges Faced: This project featured 6 different types of facades with extensive interaction around the building. Additionally, a significant amount of through-wall flashing was required to accommodate the exterior insulation.

Solutions Implemented: We dedicated time to understanding and creating specific profiles for each facade type, ensuring that all products complement each other seamlessly. This attention to detail helped in managing the interactions between different facade types and producing the necessary through-wall flashing.

Project Timeline: 7 months

Outcomes and Results: We successfully color-matched and produced all the brake metal for each exterior facade, meeting the project's aesthetic and functional requirements.

Key Team Members: Special thanks to our team for their meticulous work in ensuring all colors were a perfect match, contributing to the project's success.

POAH Mattapan station, Boston

135 Affordable Housing Units

Location: Boston, MA

Project Description: 135 affordable housing units in Boston, MA

Scope of Work: Furnish all brake metal for the exterior fiber cement facade, Juliet balcony blocking, and through-wall flashing for all windows and doors.

Challenges Faced: The project required extensive through-wall flashing with varying sizes due to the differences in exterior sheeting. This presented a challenge in managing and producing the correct parts for each specific application.

Solutions Implemented: We meticulously reviewed every floor line to determine the correct size for each part. We maintained detailed tracking of all parts to ensure we had sufficient stock and could quickly produce additional components as needed. Our machine's server stored all profiles to facilitate rapid production and ensure we could meet the tight project schedule.

Project Timeline: 8 months

Outcomes and Results: Despite the tight schedule, we managed to keep production on track by having all parts readily available. The profiles were efficiently stored and produced from our machine's server, allowing us to maintain a quick turnaround and meet project deadlines.

780 Morrissey Blvd Project

Location: Dorchester, MA

Project Description: 125 multi-family affordable housing units in Dorchester, MA.

Scope of Work: Furnished metal siding accessories for the metal siding areas, through-wall flashing, metal girts, and flashing for all the windows and doors.

Challenges Faced: The project involved more than 300 windows, requiring over 2,000 pieces of brake metal flashing, despite having only a few profiles.

Solutions Implemented: Thanks to our modern equipment, we were able to produce 450 pieces per day, ensuring a steady supply of the required materials.

Project Timeline: 9 months

Outcomes and Results: The subcontractor was able to maintain their production schedule by relying on our rapid production of brake metal.

Key Team Members: Our team put in a significant effort to produce all the parts quickly and efficiently, contributing to the project's success.

Rantoul St Project

Location: Beverly, MA

Project Description: 65 residential units and a retail store in Beverly, MA.

Scope of Work: Furnished the brake metal flashing and accessories for the metal shingles.

Challenges Faced: The contractor needed a quick turnaround due to a large number of damaged metal shingle accessories.

Solutions Implemented: We maintain a comprehensive library of accessories in our server, allowing us to meet the contractor's demands for a quick
turnaround efficiently.

Project Timeline: 7 months

Outcomes and Results: The contractor was able to meet the schedule demands thanks to our rapid production and supply of necessary accessories.

Key Team Members: Having a server to store and organize a large number of profiles was crucial. Special thanks to our team for keeping our profiles
well organized and readily accessible.

Precision Metal Flashing Installation for Fox Rock's Exterior Facades

Project : Furnishing and Installation of Brake Metal Flashing for Exterior Facades

Scope of Work: Nichiha Illumination Series, CMP, and Brick Veneer

Project Overview: New England Brake Metal was contracted by Franca Services as the client, to furnish and install custom brake metal flashing for three exterior facade products: Nichiha Illumination Series, CMP, and brick veneer. The project required a precise installation of over 20,000 linear feet of custom brake metal to ensure a seamless integration across all facade variations.

Challenges Faced: One of the main challenges of this project was the complexity of working with three distinct exterior facade materials. Ensuring that each facades brake metal flashed properly and matched the specific design profiles required a high level of precision and adaptability. Managing such a large quantity of custom brake metal also posed logistical challenges, as any delays in fabrication could potentially slow down progress on-site.

Solutions Implemented: To tackle these challenges, New England Brake metal leveraged its advanced 3D modeling capabilities. By creating detailed models of each brake metal profile, we were able to store and track them with ease, ensuring all components were ready for installation when needed. This proactive approach played a critical role in streamlining the work on-site, enabling our field crew to stay productive without interruptions.

Results: The installation of the custom brake metal flashing blended perfectly with the variations in the exterior walls of all three facades. By maintaining consistent production and installation standards, we achieved a seamless finish that not only met but exceeded the project's aesthetic and functional requirements.
